Banana Split Doily




This doily is approximately 7 inches in diameter. It has one row of burgess ribbon... something new to me, and was fun to design into this pattern.

Bernat Cool - Napolitian
Approximately ½ skien
Size #7 Hook
Stitches included in pattern.
 
PATTERN:
Ch 6, join with sl st to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as 1st dc), 15 dc in ring; sl st to top of beg ch 3. (16 dc total)
Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same st as joining, work 2 dc in each dc around; join with sl st to top of beg ch 3. (32 dc)
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in same st, *ch 5, sk next 3dc, sc in next dc; rep from * around, join with sl st to form last loop. (8 ch-6 loops)
Rnd 4: Sl st into first ch-6 loop, ch 4 (counts as first tr), 5 tr in same loop, *ch 1, 5 tr in next loop; repeat from * around to last loop, end with 5 5 tr in last loop; for last tr and ch 1, make tr holding back last 2 loops, yo insert in 4th ch of beg tr; yo, pull thru 2 loops on hook, yo pull thru last 3 loops ( 8 6-tr groups, 8 sc)
Rnd 5: Ch 9 (counts as tr, ch 5), in next 6-tr groop make tr, tr, dc, dc, hdc, hdc; sc in ch-1 sp; in next 6-tr group make hdc, hdc, dc, dc, tr, tr; * ch 5, in the next two groups make tr, tr, dc, dc, hdc, hdc, sc in ch-1 sp, hdc, hdc, dc, dc, tr, tr; repeat from * around end with sl st in 4th ch of beg ch-9. (4 ch-5 loops, 16 tr, 16 dc, 16 hdc, 4 sc)
Rnd 6: Ch 1 sc in same sp as joining; *[ch 3, sc] twice in ch-5 loop, [ch 3, sc in next st, ch 3, sk next st, sc in next st] seven times; repeat from * around, ch 1, dc in beg sc to form last loop. (36 ch-3 loops)
Rnd 7: (Burgess Row) Ch 11, dc in 6th ch from hook and next 3 chs; *ch 5, sl st in first ch-3 loop at corner; [ch 5, turn, dc in previous 4 dc] around entire row for each loop; end as follows: ch 5, to connect the last row, sl st in 1st dc of last row, dc in 1st dc of beg row, * sl st in next dc of last row, dc in next dc of beg row; repeat from * 2 more times; ch 2, sl st in ch-3 loop; DO NOT FASTEN OFF.( 72 4-dc rows of burgess)
Rnd 8: Sl st beg 2 chs, sl st in next 4 dc and in 2 chs of ch 5 loop; ch 1, sc in same loop; * ch 4, sc in next loop; repeat from * around, ending with ch 1, dc in beg sc. (36 ch-4 loops)
Rnd 9: Ch 1, sc in same loop; * ch 5, sc in next loop; repeat from * around, end with ch 2, dc in beg sc. ( 36 ch-5 loops)
Rnd 10: Repeat round 9, ending with ch 5 sl st in beg sc. (36 loops)
Rnd 11: Sl st into first ch-5 loop, ch 3 (counts as first dc), 2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc in same loop (beg shell); ch 2, * dc in next loop, ch 2; in net loop make shell (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc), ch 2; repeat from * around, ending with sl st in top of beg ch-3. (18 shells, 18 dc, 36 ch-2 spaces)
Rnd 12: Sl st to ch-3 sp, Beg Shell, ch 1; * dc, ch 2, dc (V-Stitch) in next dc, ch 1, Shell in Shell, ch 1; repeat from * around ending with sl st in top of beg ch-3 (18 shells, 18 V-St, 18 ch-1)
Rnd 13: Sl st to ch-3 sp, Beg Shell, ch 1; *[V-St in next dc] 2 times (2 V-Sts made); ch 1, Shell in Shell, ch 1; repeat from * around ending with sl st in top of beg ch-3. (18 Shells, 36 V-Sts, 36 ch-1 sps)
Rnd 14: Sl st to ch-3 sp, Ch 1, sc in same sp, * ch 3, sc in same sp, ch 3, sk next dc, sc in next dc; ch 3, sk next dc, sc in ch-1 sp; ch 3, sk dc, sc in ch-2 sp; ch 3, sk next 2 dc, sc in ch-2 sp; ch 3, sk dc, sc in ch-1 sp; ch 3, sk dc, sc in next dc; ch 3, repeat from * around ending with sl st in beg sc. FASTEN OFF. (64 ch-3 loops)
