Introducing John

I haven't been here since June. Shame on me. I have some great news for you. I have a beau. (hanging head shyly...) His name is John Ludlun. He's 2 years older than I am, still works, has a store on E-bay and volunteers time for WINK television personality, Jim Ferrell. I met him on the internet, Match.Com while I was on my extended vacation of approximately 2 months. We talked long distance while I was in Ohio and during my trip back home.

I got to know him and liked what I heard. We exchanged photos and I liked what I saw too. I had been home 2 days and he came to see me. We've been seeing each other since. That was the end of August.

I have included a photo of us on our trip to Kennedy Space Center. I really enjoyed my visit there.

J.B. Saga Ended

Looks like I don't have to feed J.B. anymore. I found out the maintenance man of the park caught him in a cage and took him to the pound. There he will be kept for a certain period of time to see if someone will want him. After that I don't want to say....

JB Showed UP Finally!

Well the little critter finally showed up. When she passed by the window I tapped on it and she meowed. Since I am a total wimp when it comes to cats, I got a plate of dry food her him. He wanted to run away, but I kept following him around the house. He ran between some plants and stayed there. I slowly placed the plate of food on the cement for him, and when he got wind of it, nothing was going to stop him from eating. That was two days ago. Wonder when he will show up again.

Until next time...

More Photos of Orion

Just a couple more photos of that ever so adoreable
Orion.

Orion Wesley

I fell in love with this tot the minute I saw his photos. He was so tiny with so much medical contraptions attached to him until you could hardly see him. He has now picked up weight and is over 4 pounds . This photo is one of the more recent ones. He was laying on his side. I flipped the photo up and just look at that cutie pie!

Orion is the baby I crocheted the Crib Blanket for. I know he will enjoy it very much.

Congratulations to Mom and Dad.... what a darling little member of the family!

Just Black...

Today I got the scare of a lifetime! Several years back I lost a cat that was black with a white spot on her neck. Her name was Lokkett. That is what the white hair is called under the neck. Lokkett's spot was no bigger than a dime. I still think of her. To get back to the scare... a black cat came up to my house. I sat there and watched her (I'm assuming a her) walk past the window I was sitting at drinking coffee. I couldn't move at first... then I tapped on the window and when she turned around there was no white spot... just black. Romeow was sitting there with me and started the throaty growl cats do when someone else is invading their territory. I hushed him by asking him if I should feed her. Well, she came closer to the window and meowed to me. I suppose she was hungry, and it took everything I could do not to feed her. If she comes around again, I will call her JB.

Baby Crib Blanket

I have finished crocheting a baby crib blanket for Orion. He is the grandson of a friend. Orion was born premature but is doing very well.

The blanket was done in a shell stitch changing colors of green, blue, pink and cream.

Big Accomplishment -- New Doily

Hello Again,

I am just so pleased with myself! I have been trying to get my shed cleaned out and straightened up for over a year. I DID IT!!! Now I have a rocking chair inside with plenty of room to rock away and crochet!

I have also completed a new design. This one is large. I measured 23" after being blocked. I have to re-crochet the last row because I omitted some picots... yes, those dreadful picots... no wonder I missed some!!! This doily is made in beaded pineapples in Delft Blue, size 10 thread with a #8 steel hook.

Please tell me what you think.

Neon Gathering Fans

I have finished crocheting another Gathering Fans doily for a CAL I'm in. It is a Mystery bead CAL. I used bright neon beads and thought it came out pretty good.

Monday 1/29

Today is Monday and I had a fairly good day, with the exception of the battery going dead in my truck. Went to the Clubhouse in the park, found Ricky our Grounds keeper and Maintenance Person. Rick had jumper cables and helped me get the truck started. Next door neighbor, Don, also helped.
Both doctor visits were good... nothing exciting to report.
Today I received a long awaited sunflower doily from my friend Joy Ketter. It is
absolutely beautiful.
In one of the groups I belong to, 'Rock-a-Beady', we had a mystery beading challenge using my latest design, Gathering Fans. I'll have to post a photo later as it is drying.
Went out to my oldest sister's, Evelyn, whom I call 'Sister', to show her the crochet magazine with Winter Solstice in it.
I also found out that my brother-in-law, Joe, is planning to sell Grandma's house and is giving me first choice. I really want this house. It's 2 bedrooms and has property that is worth more than the house. Heck, the land is worth more than what I'm paying for the whole deal. Wish me luck! I've got to get the money...

Another Day

Here it is Monday again! I've been negotiating with a client to make her a blanket for her new DIL's wedding in March. It will take 96 squares, 8" each plus the border. I'd say about a week to complete it if I have time.

Talked to my friend Nancy who went to So. Carolina for about a week. I certainly don't envy her as it is cold and wet up there.

Tomorrow is doctor visits with Dr. Asperilla, diabeties, and Dr. Ruggeri, heart/diabeties. Will let you know results.

Holiday Hugs,
Nana

Gathering Fans

Last week I was bored and decided to create a small doily. I came up with this one that I named Gathering Fans. This doily was made specifically for a beaded crochet-a-long in a group I belong to. You can see my version "Neon Fans" in a future post.

Winter Solstice

Recently I designed a doily that was published by "Hooked on Crochet" by Annie's Attic. Below you will see a photo of that doily. I can't tell you how exciting it was to have this doily published. It was the first one, and, of course, the most exciting thing to happen to me. I have always wanted to be published.

I recently heard from the publishing company that they needed more doilies. Of course I can accommodate them!
